"Tobruk" Bunker for HMG (German)

This little bunker, called by the allies a 'Tobruk', was usually occupied by only one man who operated a MG42 machinegun, but there were 7 other basic types and lots of variants. Some types of 'Tobruk' were designed to fire mortars from, they are recognisable by the larger opening and a small pillar in the middle where the mortar was placed. Tobruk's were also modified to carry turrets of tanks, mostly pre-war turrets. For example, a Tobruk with a R35 tank turret, armed with a 3,7 cm gun, was positioned at Le Grand Vey (Wn 101) at the southern point of Utah Beach. One of the most common types of German bunker, the small but very effective "Tobruk" was often used to protect larger installations or behind multiple lines of minefields, barbed wire and tank traps. Typically 3 or 4 would be placed so as to create a 'killing zone' and maximize enemy casualties while crossing the obstacles. The bunker was meant to be completely buried, leaving only the little door at the side exposed; often that access was connected to a trench system.
You can simply place the top part of the bunker on the table, and it's ready to play; if you want to incorporate it into a more complex diorama or scenic table a separate side section is provided, This is what it could look like assembled; the door is also a separate piece so can be mounted in any position. Overall size is 110x70mm and the height is 25mm. The wall section is 55mm x 38mm and the door opening is 18mm x 30mm. Like all our models this is a historically accurate reproduction with plenty of beautifully sculpted surface detail to help you in painting, including damage from enemy small arms fire, and it's made of tough POLYURETHANE.

Vf600 Enfilade bunker for 50mm gun (German)

One of the most common bunkers in the Atlantik Wall was the octagonal open 50mm gun platform known as Vf600 (Vf stands for Verstarkfeldmassig, meaning reinforced field position). The basic version of the series was often modified to adapt it to local requirements, this particular type was used in the British/Canadian sector of the D-Day beaches, at St. Aubin-sur-Mer on Juno-Nan-Red beach (WN27). Designed to provide enfilade fire along the beach it had the additional protection of a massively thick reinforced concrete wall facing the sea and also a reinforced concrete roof. It proved to be virtually impervious to naval bombardment and impregnable from the beach.
The impressive model comes in two parts and require very basic assembly. It is offered complete with a 18 pieces set of "Dragon's Teeth" anti-tank reinforced concrete barrier which you can use to delay the advance of enemy forces. Overall size of the complete model is 118x120mm and the height is 75mm. Like all our models this is a historically accurate reproduction with plenty of beautifully sculpted surface detail to help you in painting, and it's made of tough POLYURETHANE.

A classic "PILLBOX" without annexes. These type were not built right on the beaches but further inland, and therefore lack any side wall designed to protect them from naval fire. They have been extensively used all over France and Germany, positioned near strategic locations such as bridges, main road crossing, railways, etc. Designed for a full squad with one or more MG34 / MG42, this bunker has a wide opening which allows an excellent field of view all around. This model has plenty of beautifully sculpted surface detail to help you in painting, including damage from enemy small arms fire.
Like all other models in this range it is made of tough POLYURETHANE; the roof is a separate piece which can be left loose to be removed and allow access to the interior, or glued in place; the door is also separate. Overall size is 104x75mm and the height is 56mm. Internal size is 72x45mm and the internal height is 35mm.

28mm "Dragon's Teeth" - 36 pieces anti-tank reinforced concrete barrier (German)

Tank traps like these were built for miles along the Atlantik Wall and Siegfried Line and were known as "dragon's teeth" or "pimples" (in German Höcker, "humps") because of their shape. These blocks of reinforced concrete stand in several rows on a single foundation. There are two typical sorts of barrier: Type 1938 with four teeth getting higher toward the back, and Type 1939 with five such teeth. This pack contains 36 individual pieces and actual scale layout diagrams to help you set them correctly if you want to incorporate them into a diorama or scenic table. Many other irregular lines of teeth were also built however, so feel free to lay down your defences as you prefer for your games! The pack contains enough teeths for a foot of terrain using the full five teeth configuration, but you can cover twice as much space using a less deep formation (3 teeth), and up to four feet using a double line as shown to the right! (the figures are not included, they are from our own 1-48COMBAT range are approximately 36mm tall and shown here for size reference only!)

Typically a complete defensive line had minefields in front and behind them were the dragon's teeth. They rested on a concrete mat between ten and thirty meters wide, sunk for a meter or two into the ground (to prevent any attempt to tunnel underneath them and place explosive charges). On top of the mat were the teeth themselves, truncated pyramids of reinforced concrete about a meter in height in the front row, to two meters high in the back. They were staggered and spaced in such a manner that a tank could not drive through. Interspersed among the teeth were minefields, barbed wire, and pillboxes that were virtually impregnable to artillery and set in such a way as to give the Germans crossing fire across the entire front. The only way to take those pillboxes was for infantry to get behind them and attack the rear entry. But behind the first row of pillboxes and dragon’s teeth, there was a second, and often a third, and sometimes even a fourth! The French also employed them in the Maginot Line, while many were laid in the United Kingdom in 1940-1941 as part of the effort to strengthen the country's defences against a possible German invasion.

A typical sandbags bunker with a separate roof piece and two "L" shaped sections of fortifications made with sandbags piled over fundations of discarded boxes and drums filled with soil. Toward the end of the war old tyres started to be piled on top of such fortifications for extra protection, a practice that proved very effective and it is still popular today. Designed to provide a complete stronghold in a box, all the models in this set have plenty of beautifully sculpted surface detail to help you in painting, and can be used for basically any conflict from WWII up to the most futuristic settings!
Like all other models in this range it is made of tough POLYURETHANE; the roof is a separate piece which can be left loose to make it easier placing figures inside or glued in place. The covered position size is 84x75mm and the height is 60mm with the roof on. The two sandbagged sections are 110x70mm and 90x70mm rispectively, both 26mm high.
