15mm Ancient Buildings AVAILABLE NOW!


We think there is a distinctive lack of good quality ancient buildings in 15mm on the market, and so we have started this range to put a remedy to such shameful situation!

What makes this range quite different from all our other products is that the subject of URBIS models is not necessarily of an explicitally military nature. Instead here you'll find everything you need to recreate ancient villages, towns and cities as well as all aspects of ancient civilian life in true 1:100 (15mm) scale.

Like the rest of our products these are very highly detailed and historically accurate reproductions, and we take extra care to ensure they have plenty of deep cut texture to help you in painting! They are also made with a very high quality POLYURETHANE resin which is tough, non brittle, it doesn't smell and desn't chip easily at all! Unsurprisingly it is also not a cheap material and this unfortunately has to be reflected in the item price, but keep in mind you are getting a scenic piece that is not only beautifully sculpted, it will also last you for a lifetime!

The different items in this range are designed to go together with each other, and can be used to make a generic built-up area for your games, or together with the towers and walls now available in our HOPPIDUS range of fortification will let you model a whole ancient walled city, starting with the mother of them all of course: the great city of Troy itself!
The initial releases focus on the Ancient Near East and East Mediterranean walled cities, starting with Mycenaean buildings, but many more models are being currently developed for this range, not only to flesh it out with more buildings, shops, temples, fountains, etc. but also to expand it to cover different periods and geographical areas. To top it all, there will be accessories and figure packs to add even more detail and live it all up! We hope to be able to offer also pre-assembled prepainted versions at some point in the future, but for the moment please remember that as all resin models these MUST be washed thoroughly with hot water and a strong detergent before painting, to clean off all traces of mold release agent. If you don't follow this simple precaution the paint may flake off!

Small round stone huts like these were used by nearly every population living in mediterranean Europe, and are still commonly found (sometimes still in use) in the countryside. They are generally built by farmers as shelters and for storage, but there are many examples of similar circular structures identified as covered wells or even as primitive shrines.
This model is based on accurate archaeological evidence and it is a very realistic and highly detailed reproduction. It can be added to any ancient town or village to give it a more mediterranean look, and is perfect for scenario games, were it could represent an objective to capture or control. The model is about 26 mm (1 inch) wide at the bottom and 30 mm tall. In 1/100 (the scale roughly equivalent to 15mm) that is over two and half meters of diameter and three meters high. The edge of the roof is about 4 meters across.
There are examples of this kind of construction commonly scattered across southern Spain and Italy, Greece, Illiria, and all Eastern Mediterranean. It is also suitable as a small Celtic or Pict hut.

Small town house. The less wealthy abitants of ancient dwellings lived in simple single floor housing like these, but the model could also be used for a small warehouse or workshop, or even as an extension for a larger building.
This model is in Mycenaean style, which makes it particularly suitable not only for the city of Troy, but for all ancient Greek City States and colonies, including those in Southern Italy, Black Sea and North Africa, and for cities in Macedonia, Crete, Cyprus, Egypt, Assyria, Phoenician colonies including Carthage, and all cities and states in present-day Lebanon, Israel and Jordan! It's based on accurate archaeological evidence and it is a very realistic and highly detailed reproduction. It can be added to any ancient town or village around the Mediterranean and in the Near East from the beginning of historical times well into the Classical age. The model is 60x35 mm at the base and 33mm tall. The roof is a separate part. Require basic assembly. Supplied unpainted.

Large two floors city house. The more well-to-do citizens of the city lived in larger two-storey house, standing close together and forming the continuous sides of strees. "Constructed of sun-dried mud-brick reinforced with timber and plastered with mud, these stand on low, rubble-stone foundations. The inhabitants of a house generally dwell in the upper storey, the lower one being divided into two or more rooms serving as workshop and storage. The flat roof, which is of timber and reed coated with thick mud plaster, is commonly used to sun-dry grapes and figs, as well as serving as an ideal place to relax and watch the world drift by."

Small enclosed stable. Good horses were reserved to the very richest of citizen and the military, and were the subject of great care as well as the source of great pride. This close stable with two wide doors could shelter a whole chariot as well as a horse team and all tack, and would make a perfect objective for a raid in a small scenario game, or just be a great looking addition to your ancient town!

Small extension to be attached to a larger building, or to a tower or wall section. Excellent way to lock up and store stuff you want to keep handy, outbuildings like this were very common throughout all ages.

More precisely, this model is in Mycenaean style, which makes it particularly suitable not only for the city of Troy, but for all ancient Middle-Eastern City States and colonies, including those in Egypt, Assyria, present-day Lebanon, Israel and Jordan. Like all major architectural works of the past the building of such walls would take decades and last for centuries. In later age existing fortifications of this scale would be incorporate into new ones, so it can be added to any ancient town or village around the Mediterranean and in the Near East from the beginning of historical times well into Colonial times! The model is composed of two parts and the assembled piece is 120x27 mm at the base and 68mm tall. It is designed specifically to be compatible with standard 15mm base frontage and can accomodate up to three 40mm wide - 20mm deep bases on the ramparts.

More precisely, this model is in Mycenaean style, which makes it particularly suitable not only for the city of Troy, but for all ancient Middle-Eastern City States and colonies, including those in Egypt, Assyria, present-day Lebanon, Israel and Jordan. Like all major architectural works of the past the building of such walls would take decades and last for centuries. In later age existing fortifications of this scale would be incorporate into new ones, so it can be added to any ancient town or village around the Mediterranean and in the Near East from the beginning of historical times well into Colonial times! The model is composed of two parts and the assembled piece is 120x27 mm at the base and 68mm tall. Use it to hide an unwanted door in a tower, or to close the end of a wall section, or just as a scenic addition to add variety to your layout. This model is very generic in style, which makes it suitable for any stone building from the beginning of historical times well into Colonial times! The model is a single piece is 28mm wide at the base and 73mm tall. It is designed specifically to be compatible with the rest of the range, both in size and style.
